What should I do if I forgot to update the SIN while on the process of transmitting the income tax?

If you have already Netfiled and you received a confirmation number, there should be no problem. You can verify with the Canada Revenue Agency to make sure your number is correct on your file by calling them at 1-800-959-8281.

If you have not completed filing please follow the steps below.

To update your Social Insurance Number:

1- Open the TurboTax software by going into your account and return.

2- Search " Personal Information- Name and Birth Date" by using the Find icon (magnifying glass) at the top right and click Go.

3- Edit your Social Insurance Number and click Continue to save your information.
