Hello,

I was wondering if I get claimed as a dependent but they don't file my 1098 form, can i get the money back if i file it instead? or does my parent just automatically get that money even if they dont file my form?

No, if your parents claim you then only they can use the Form 1098-T for the education credits and/or deductions.  The following links may be of interest to you as well.
