1098-T was just sent to me didn't know it was coming and already did my taxes what can i do to put this on my taxes

    You don't have to report it, but you should, because it could qualify you for a larger refund.  If you have already e-filed your return and it's been accepted, the next step is to amend your return after you get your refund. 

    The form to amend your tax return will be available sometime next month.  The information below will explain how to amend your return once the form is ready.

    Yes it does help, though not needed unless looking for a school credit. Some colleges will let you download 1098 from their main web site before sent to your house or address. All you need to do is put in the info for 1098 under deductions. I downloaded my 1098 before in the previous years and in most times 2 weeks ahead of it being sent to my address. I try to file my taxes as early as I can, to avoid lengthy IRS issues or in present time a government shutdown. If you file before the 28th of January, you can get accepted or rejected( if rejected you can fix return before first tax date accepted). The earliest the better. But any school books paid for and expenses occurred can be itemized under school expenses.
