I am in a clinical research study and was paid $950 in 2024 for my participation. The IRS wants my business ID number or I can't finish my return. I am not a business. How can I fix this?

If it was a for a one-time activity with no intent to earn money, you can check the box that says This is not money earned as an employee or self-employed individual. Then you can delete the Schedule C that was started.
