My return was rejected for incorrect AGI for 2018 which is correct.  I filed the 2019 returns on Oct 15 which was the last day to file for extension.  If I requested for a transcript for IRS, wouldn't my return be considered too late not knowing how long it will take for that to arrive?

I don't want to file by mail because that may not be processed in time for me to receive my stimulus check which is being held till I file 2019 return.

You might be able to get a transcript immediately online at Get Transcript on the IRS web site.

I don't know if you will get a stimulus check this year, even if you e-file now. If you don't get a check, you will be able to get the stimulus payment as a credit on your 2020 tax return.

Thank you.

I tried getting the transcript online but they do not have it. Their response came in form of a letter which says "we have no record of a processed tax return for the period - 2018." This is probably because it was filed late by mail.  Of course, they cashed the check for the owed tax immediately.

It appears my only option is to mail my return by mail.

If the 2018 return is not in the IRS system try using a single ZERO for the AGI to efile the 2019 return ... if that also rejects then mailing is the only option.
