I filed my taxes for 2019 on 04/26/2020 last year. My card was charged. On turbotax account, it only says "printed". Why hasnt it been accepted by the IRS? Ive checked their site and nothing is showing on their end. What is the deal? I can't talk to anyone on the phone with turbotax and this is a time sensitve matter!!

Your card would be charged in order to either print or e-file the tax return.

  • It is possible that the option to mail in the tax returns was selected. If that is the case and the returns were not physically mailed, the returns have not been filed.
  • Another possibility is that you filed an extension, but did not actually file your tax return. For 2019, the due date was July 15, 2020. If you selected to file an extension, that would have allowed you to e-file by October 15, 2020.

To check what is on file with the IRS, create or view your account: IRS View Your Tax Account and search for 2019 information. If nothing is posted for 2019, nothing was filed.

For more ways to reach the IRS:

You can proceed to file 2020 if 2019 does not impact your return.

For more information, see: Can I file a 2020 return if I haven't filed my 2019 return yet?

I filed an extension and made a payment. How do I get credit for it?
