Activation Code for tax 2024 incorrectly entered to a wrong account

I bought turbo tax online for the year 2024 but I mistakenly entered into a turbotax account that I have never used to prepare any tax return. I initially thought that the turbotax account where I entered the activation code was the one that I have used in filling my tax returns last year. When I tried to create a tax return for 2024, it didn't lead me to carry forward my filed tax return last year because it was not the correct turbotax account. So I tried entering the activation code to my correct turbotax account but the said code doesn't work anymore.

Please help get the activation code move from the incorrect turbotax account to the correct account. Thank you in advance for the help/

Sorry. Once an activation code is linked to an account then it is linked for good. You can try moving the information from 2023 over to this new account. But only that account will be able to use that license.

It should not matter what account you logged into. If you have the 16 digit activation code you need to be using the Desktop installed program, not the Online version. If you used the Desktop program for 2023 you should have the .tax2023 file on your computer to Transfer into 2024. If you used the Online version last year you can download the .tax2023 file to transfer into the 2024 Desktop program. Did you get the program installed and activated?
