Question

Additional refund due

My 2019 return has been accepted by the IRS, but I have not yet received my refund of $400. Now I see that I I am due a larger refund (I forgot to include my estimated tax payment from last year). Question: should I submit a corrected return now, while the first one is still in progress, or wait until every thing is settled and I have my initial refund in hand? I don't want to muddy the waters in any way. Thanks for any help.

If you need to amend your return, you should wait until the first initial return is fully processed and then process the amended return.
