I submitted my tax forms with the wrong City address.  All other information is correct including state and zip code.  Do I need to file an amended return?

If you entered an incorrect address and have already filed your return you will have to wait until the IRS either accepts or rejects your return. If the IRS has accepted your return you will have to amend your return and correct any errors. If the IRS has rejected your return you will need to fix the errors like correcting an address and resubmit your tax return.

Please see the below FAQ for more information on amending a 2019 tax return:

If you didn't file your return, follow the steps below to edit your address:

    1. Log in to your account.
    2. Select Personal Information.
    3. Select my Info from the left Menu.
    4. Scroll down and click Edit next to the mailing address.

If you already filed your return and it has been accepted, you need to amend it to make any changes.

Here's how you amend your return:

    1. Sign in to your account.
    2. Scroll down to Your tax return & documents , select 2019 and then Amend (change) return
    3. Select Amend using TurboTax Online.
    4. Follow the instructions, your refund or tax due will change to 0. This is normal on amended returns.

Amended return can't be e-file, you need to print it and mail it in.
