After tax return was accepted by IRS TurboTax status showed estimated refund as February 11th then it disappeared a few days later. What does that mean?

This is the first year a "5 day early" option has ever been offered.  Frankly I am very skeptical about that offer-- do  not have unrealistic hopes---if you are subject to the PATH act for earned income credit or additional child tax credit, the IRS is required to hold your refund until mid-February.    Watch the IRS refund site for a date.  When you see a date there---count backwards on a calendar for five days.   That *might* be more realistic.

The date TurboTax gave you does not mean much.   Only the IRS controls when you get your refund.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

    https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

    https://www.irs.gov/refunds

    To track your state refund:

    https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing

    .

If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund earlier than late February.

Note:  “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”.  TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing.   Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing.  If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.

I was only inquiring about the estimated refund date of 02/11/2025 that was shown in TurboTax app itself. February 11th marks 21 days after my return was accepted by the IRS. I paid for the 5 day refund early deposit so just curious about the app itself and how this early refund is going to work. First time using this option.

    Thank you!

I filed the VERY first and original acceptance date on 01/09/25. It took until the 17th to be accepted and gave me the estimated refund date of 02/05/25. A few days later that date disappeared and it wasn't until 02/07/25 that TurboTax emailed me and said they gave me incorrect information about my estimated refund delivery date because they didn't take into account that I had claimed the EIC. As of yesterday 02/21/25, my estimated refund delivery showed a new date that also happened to be 02/21/25 too. However, I still have not received my refund, nor has my return been approved on the IRS website. TurboTax also showed an updated notification that I am no longer eligible for the the 5 day early expedited refund and they are refunding me the fee that it would have cost to use that service. My experience this year has been a pain in my a**, I've used TurboTax for nearly 20 years and it seems since 2020 I have had a problem every year since. Not only that, but the State of MI has "randomly" selected me the last 4 years in a row for a manual review. I even reached out and emailed the state to ask why I keep getting flagged when I file the most simple and basic return there is, and was told the computer chooses randomly. I don't know but I feel like there has to be some sort of criteria because it seems so astronomical that this is happening and I have been flagged yet again. I would be more understanding if my return was complicated, but it's literally a single W-2, with no extra credit or deductions or dependents, so I can't even begin to fathom what prompted another review especially when every prior year I have provided every necessary document requested from me and have ultimately always ended up receiving my state refund. I just can't keep doing through this, my refund from 2022 took about 15 months to receive and it's only the state I've been having this issue with, not my federal. This year is the first time I have had complications with my federal, but that's only because I claimed the EIC and I was unaware that refunds with that credit claimed cannot legally be released until mid to late February. I'm not sure if it's always been like that or if PATH is a newer law, but I'm curious to look into it and find out💯😂😂😂 😆

Have you checked the IRS "Where's my refund" site?  This is the best place to see updates on your IRS refund.
