AMEND 2019 return due to 1099-misc

I received a 1099-misc form after we filed our return.  When I go into amend in federal return, it has us owing over 1/2 of what the 1099 "nonemployee compensation" is.

The 1099 does say to fil it with state tax return.

So, am I amending state or federal?  And what is the process?

To amend your state return, please see the TurboTax FAQ below:

    Hi,

Thanks for your response. I am not seeing an option to add 1099 misc info on the state return when I follow the steps you linked.

When I search in Turbo Tax for 1099misc, it leads me back to my federal return and puts me in the red by nearly half of that nonemployee compensation income.  That doesn't seem right.  Any more help?
