Amend SSN error in turbotax desktop

Initially filed with a typo in the SSN, which got rejected. Then submitted with the correct SSN, which was accepted. The next day, I received a corrected 1099. When I tried to amend the return using the correct SSN, it wouldn’t allow it. Then I tried with the typo SSN, but TurboTax Desktop says I haven’t filed using TurboTax and asks me to mail it in instead. Has anyone else faced the same issue?

To Amend, open your tax return and go to 'Other Tax Situations'.  Make sure you saved a copy of your original filed return first.  You should wait to amend until you've received your refund.  Amended returns are processed separately and can take months to process. You have up to three years to amend a return, so no rush.

You don't need your SSN to Amend.  Check the Personal Info section.  Your accepted return should have the correct info.

The steps you provided don't work. I am seeing the same message every time, even after my return has been accepted. Both the entry and the one highlighted in red in the form match.
This is the message I am getting

Do you have a TIN for business purposes?  If not, and you're using TurboTax Online, clear your Cache and Cookies.

Sometimes the 'check this entry' message means just that and you can Continue past it.
