Amended Return Not Showing on IRS Amended Return Status Site

I entered a 2019 amended return the end of August 2021 and Turbo Tax shows it was successfully transmitted to the IRS, yet nothing shows on the IRS Amended Return Status site. How can I verify the return was sent and received?

Amended returns can take many months to be processed. Be patient.

I understand it takes many months to the refund. The IRS site is saying 20 weeks right now. However, the IRS site says that you should see the amended return display as received on their site within 3 weeks and it has been 10. Also I submitted a 2020 amended return at the same time and it is showing on the IRS Amended as being received the week it was transmitted. I did electronically submit the 1040X for 2019, which I read is allowed now. Turbo tax shows the 2019 amended return was "Accepted".

The IRS does seem to be catching up. Even in normal times, it can take longer than 3 weeks to see the amend on their site. Just keep watching for it to appear.
