I need to file an amended California return that showed I owe money. I indicated the money to be taken out of my checking account on April 14. failed to enter $4000 in tax withheld, but my return has been accepted. How do I file an amended return that will show I am owed a refund?

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS or your state.
