I made a mistake in thinking that the letter sent to me about the third stimulus check thinking it mean that the amount shown was money that I had to pay back when in reality it was trying to show that that was how much I was supposed to have received. I never received the third stimulus check. And now I need to amend it on my tax return. Is there anyway to do that or do I need to wait until I actually get my return?

If you did not receive the full amount of the 3rd stimulus check, you can claim it on your return. If you did not claim it on the original return, you need to amend the return to claim it. You should wait till after the IRS finishes processing your return/refund.
