Amending 2019 taxes along with 2020

my previous tax person messed up my wifes SSN and we have not received our stimulus. so moved to turbotax as its simply superb... came to know after performing my 2020 tax returns.

So while prepping my 2020 return i saw a tab for amendment. when i click its taking me to purchase 2019 tax software.

Kind of confused is this how the software runs? if not help me.

already purchased premium software from costco.

You cannot amend 2019 online. You would have to purchase and download the 2019 desktop software (which works similar to the 2020 COSTCO one); recreate your exact original 2019 return; fool the system by telling it to file that by mail (but don't actually do so); then amend; print, sign and file by mail. 1040-X amended returns take several months to process.

I'm not sure how your previous tax person even filed your 2019 return, since an incorrect SSN usually results in an efile rejection, and you would have had to manually sign a paper filing. I suggest you go back to him/her and demand that they make it right.
