Question

Amending a Maryland tax return on Turbo Tax

I have what I believe is a Turbo Tax technical issue:

I am a New York resident since March 2017 after having been a Maryland resident.

I filed a 2019 Maryland NONRESIDENT tax return to recoup $1600 in withholding that was incorrectly sent to Maryland.   I am preparing a Maryland form 505X Nonresident Amended Tax Return to amend the original return as Turbo Tax incorrectly included in Maryland income $5476 of my Capital Gains.

However, Turbo Tax will not let me change the Capital Gains amount to make it non-Maryland income.   It appears to be a Turbo Tax technical problem, but I do not know who to contact.  Please help.

Check all of the questions in the TurboTax interview questions for the Maryland nonresident tax return. One of the Maryland forms includes the non-Maryland income for purposes of calculating a "Maryland Nonresident Factor".  There may be a separate screen where you can designate your capital gains as "Non-Maryland Income (Loss)".
