Can anyone tell me how to dispute an IRS notification that I owe more taxes

I received a letter stating my 2016 tax return did.not include rental royalty income. As a result the IRS states I owe additional taxes. I do not have a rental or royalty property.

Call the IRS number that should be on the letter and tell them that. Sounds like an error or someone issued a 1099-MISC with your SSN on it which could be a typing error on their part.
