I filed my taxes on January 21st and entered my school costs etc,(it was available for viewing within my student account).  After I entered the info,it was determined that I was eligible for education credit. However I have now received an official 1098-t,should I add it now...& if so will it delay my refund?

If the information on the 1098-T matches what you submitted on your tax return, you do not need to do anything.

If the 1098-T does NOT match what was filed, you may need to submit an amended return.

Wait until you receive the refund from the return you already filed, then you can begin the amendment process. You will be able to do the amendment by logging in to your TurboTax Online account and clicking Amend/Change Your Return from your Tax Timeline.

After February 11, the link below will include instructions for amending your 2015 return:

Amended returns must be printed and mailed, and take up to 12 weeks to process.

Is there a charge to submit an amendment after completing tax return (2024) with Turbo Tax? I just received 1098-t from paid tuition to university.

Also, will I really need to mail the amendment versus submitting electronically from the Turbo Tax platform?
