Question

Can I amend my 2021 taxes to adjust Line 30? I received a Letter 6475 and I realize I am missing my 3rd payment but I already filled my taxes.

I already filed and paid my 2021 taxes. I received Letter 6475 in the mail indicating that I was supposed to receive an amount but this was never received. How do I adjust Line 30 via amended to correct this?

If your e-filed return is pending, you will not be able to make any changes until it is accepted or rejected by the IRS. After that, you can amend your return. Please see How to amend (change or correct) a return you've already filed for more information.

My return is not pending - it's Accepted. I selected Amend but was not able to locate where to adjust Line 30, for the Recovery Rebate Credit. I am still owed an amount not received.

Once you are in your return, click on Federal on the left hand side, then Federal Review at the top.  You will see the screen below where you can enter the information and have the refund reported on your amended return.  @klinlin

People who are missing a stimulus payment or got less than the full amount may be eligible to claim a Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 federal tax return.

Giving an update on this since I haven't gotten an official response - I'm sure it's possible to file a 1040X separately, but I figure it would be easy to do in TurboTax considering how much I paid for it. I tried calling the IRS today, was on hold for two hours before getting told that due to high volume please try calling back again another day. Absolutely ludicrous.
