Can I amend my return to receive the stimulus money?

I marked myself that I can be claimed as a dependant despite the fact that no one will actually claim me for 2019. If I amend my return can I still get the stimulus money?

The IRS has announced that tax returns that have been filed on paper (like an amended tax return 1040X) are not being processed during the coronavirus shutdown.

When the amended tax return 1040X is processed, I would expect that the refund you receive will only be for the amount you reported on the form. To this date, the IRS has not reported that it will add the 'additional' stimulus payment.
