Can I apply for a tax advance now in December or do I have to wait until January when IRS is excepting e-files?

No you cannot apply for a refund advance loan now.  When you are ready to actually file your tax return, IF TurboTax has the refund advance loans again this year, the way it has worked in past years is the advance has to be offered to you--you cannot apply for it.  And you have to agree to have your refund put on a credit karma card.  At this time, we have no information regarding whether there will be advance loans available for 2023 returns.
