Did you already file your tax return?

You will have to wait for the IRS to either Accept or Reject your filed federal tax return.
If the return is rejected you can make the necessary changes and e-file again.
If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-change-correct-return-already-filed/L4VjJ9BA2_US_en_US?uid=ld1n99kr

Your filed return will be pending until the IRS starts accepting returns on Jan 29 and can not be changed. If your return is accepted you will get an email. If the return is rejected the e-mail will tell you what to correct and you can make changes before e-filing again. Amend to change an accepted return after you get your refund. Instructions below

If you have not filed your 2023 tax return yet, then you can still make changes to it.  If the return has already been sent, just like both DoninGA and ee-ea, mentioned you will have to wait until your return is either rejected or processed by the IRS.  You will have to wait until your return is processed before filing an amended return.

The following are steps to add the form 1098-T:

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. Select Search and enter Form 1098-T
  3. Select Jump to form 1098-T

If you need to amend your return, you will need to wait because the forms needed are not available as of today.

See the following link for more information on how to enter your 1098-T:
