Can i file my 2021 taxes if my taxes for 2020 are still pending ?

We were victim of identity theft, someone had filed a return for 2020 using our info. Now our taxes are still pending for 2020. We have a tax advacate helping us after we contacted our senator office. So we are wondering if we can go ahead and file our 2021 taxes.

Yes, each tax year can be processed separately so it is not necessary to wait for the 2020 to be processed.  Make sure you take all the security measures (like IP PIN) if you were advised to do so.
