Can i find out by phone call what's missing on my tax file and why it's taking so long?

assuming the IRS got your return, only it can answer why you haven't gotten your refund. no one is going to call you or your son except scammers. that's why the phone # was deleted.

many accepted e-filed returns are taking longer than the normal 21 days. The IRS warned of this at the beginning of the filing season.  mailed returns are taking even longer some by months.

you can try calling the IRS but because of the call overload, only a small portion get through to an agent and of those that do sometimes the line is dropped.
