Can I get assistance from Audit Protection online instead of by phone? I received a letter from IRS regarding my NY IT-203. I am currently in Germany and can't call.

This is in regards of 2018 Tax Return. The letter is called: Account Adjustment Notice.

Well you are probably not being audited ... the state is letting you know they changed something on the 2018 return ... review the notice ... are they correct ? Did you make an error ? What are they asserting ?

Is there any way for me to email you a copy of the notice?
I don't think I made any errors, since Turbotax software made all the calculations once I inputted my information (primarily from my W-2 form.
I compared NY State computations and they seem to be matching with my 2018 tax return form. I think, NY estimated that they overpaid me on my tax return. However, I am not 100% sure if that's what they are asserting.

no but you can attach a copy of the notice to an answer or your question if you black out your personal info first.

Do you mean I should wait for the next notice from NY? Also, how do I attach the notice to an answer? I don't see any option to attach a document.

I just uploaded the Account Adjustment Notice from NY. Are you saying I need to wait for another notice from NY?
