Can I make changes to a couple of entries in my federal taxes after I pay for my TurboTax order?

If you haven't filed your return then you can make changes. If you printed your return and need to open your return back up please follow these steps:

1. In TurboTax Online, sign into your account.
2. Select Tax Home in the left menu.
3. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
4. Select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this opens the return back up)

If you have already filed and your return has been accepted by the IRS, then you have to file an amended return (1040X) to make changes. But you might want to wait until your refund or payment is processed. Please be aware that you can e-file your 2020 amended federal tax return, but most states require amendments to be printed and filed by mail. Please see FAQ How to amend a tax return for instructions.
