Can I save my tax return and file it electronically later, since I have already filed before and would like to amend it? I will decide according to which one is better.

Yes, you can exit the program and return later to pick up where you left off. If you have already filed, wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend. Follow the instructions here to amend your tax return. You can file one return per year, and amend that return as needed.
