The pay with your federal tax refund is not currently available when using the TurboTax online editions.

We do not know when or if this option will be available.  This problem has been reported and we are waiting for a response from the TurboTax Moderators of the forum.  It may take a day or two before we get a response on the availability of this option.

Paying with your refund is not currently available.   We do not know yet if this is a bug or a permanent change.

@chanclorp7

Also be aware that if it's a temporary glitch and the option returns to pay fees out of the Federal refund, there is an additional 39.99 service fee for that payment option (44.99 for California filers.)   You'll save money if you pay by one of the methods below.

There is no service fee if you pay by credit/debit card.   If you don't have or don't want to use a credit/debit card, you can also pay by a prepaid debit card you can buy in a store.  A prepaid card may have a service fee of a few dollars from the underlying bank to register and activate.   Any card must have the Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express logo.    A US billing address is required when using a card.

If the "pay out of Federal refund" option returns, you must also be sure you meet all the qualifications.  Here are some circumstances that do not allow that option:

It won't let me switch my option to pay with my refund. I am filing late due to a house fire and losing my w-2 and I had to fight and argue with my old employer to get my w-2 sent to me again. So how do I switch to pay with my refund cause I don't have the money to pay myself

You should be able to click on File on the left side of the online program screen.  Then in the File section on Step 1 click on Revisit.  Scroll down the bottom of the screen and click on View Payment Options.  On the next screen select Pay with Federal Refund
