Did you use TurboTax last year? If so, are you sure your using the correct username to log into your account you used in those prior years? One email address can have multiple user IDs associated with it. Please check your records for last years username and password.

Here is the link to help you sign in if you forgot your password.

If you are just looking to view prior year returns please follow these detailed Instructions:

  1. Sign in to TurboTax.
  2. Click the Taxes tab in the top-left corner.
  3. Then, scroll to the bottom and click the Load My Tax Timeline link in the bottom-right. Every year that you have used TurboTax online will appear. AGI should be listed there.

If you are in need of your AGI from last years tax returns, here are some alternative ways to find that information.

How else to get your AGI if you don’t have a tax return:

or

You can find your AGI on:

  • Form 1040 – Line 37

  • Form 1040A – Line 21
  • Form 1040EZ – Line 4
  • Form 1040NR – Line 36
  •  Form 1040X – Line 1, Column A

Before you can e-file your 2016 federal tax return, the IRS needs to verify your identity with your 2015 adjusted gross income (AGI).

If you can’t get your AGI for e-file, don’t worry. You can still file a paper return by printing out copies of your federal and state returns and mailing them in. For information on where to send your return, go to the IRS site  Where to File Paper Tax Returns With or Without a Payment .

Tip: If you didn’t file last year and you’re in TurboTax, just tell us that when we ask you. But if you’ve already entered a number for your AGI, manually enter 0 instead

@treebabies Do you need your 2018 AGI so that you can e-file 2019?

Your 2018 tax return shows your 2018 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.

Form 1040        line 7

If you are using the same TT account that you used last year, you should also be able to find this number in your Tax Home for 2018

If entering the amount from your 2018 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead.  If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:

Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2018 AGI may not be in the system.

Note:  If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return.  You will not be able to e-file your state return.
