Check instead of Direct Deposit

Hello,

I submitted my e-file on February 15. I received my Arizona tax return via direct apposite however the IRS did not direct deposit my federal refund.

When I check the “where is my refund “it states they mailed a check on March 11.

Why are they mailing a check when I selected direct deposit?

Only the IRS would be able to provide that information. If your financial institution rejected the deposit for any reason, the IRS will then mail a paper refund check.
