Could I still make changes after my refund has been accepted? The reason for my question is after I filed my school informed me of a 1098-T correction.

Unfortunately, in order to make changes after your income tax return has been accepted, you will have to file an amended income tax return.

If I file an amended income tax return won't that slow down my return? The only difference which I noticed about my 1098-T is the amount received I believe box 1 is about 5k more. Would that even make a difference to my tax refund if I was to make that difference, because I doubt it. Please advise.
