I filed 2020 taxes using Turbotax. Now IRS says I have a positive credit but they  have not received the 2020 tax documents. I have sent a paper copy. My question is: if I filed using Turbotax how could this happen?

When you filed your 2020 return through TurboTax did you thereafter receive any notice that the IRS had "accepted" your return?  Assuming your entries were correct and matched IRS records, such acceptance could occur within 48 hours of e-filing.   If the IRS gave you such notice, then that would be evidence that the IRS has your 2020 tax return.

A positive credit could be indicative of a refund amount due you or interest on your refund.  If you could provide additional information regarding this matter, perhaps we could provide a more specific and detailed explanation.  In any follow-up post, do not include any personal identifiable information.
