Didn’t have 1099 filed

I got a letter in the mail and it stated that I needed to add my 1099 to my federal to complete it and get my return, since I already filed it how would I go about getting that form to them so I can get my return? Amend??

Which Form 1099, there are almost two dozen different types? Was the letter or notice from the IRS or your State? The notice should also have told you how to provide the form. If not, there is a phone number on the notice where you can call if you have a question.
