Do i have to mail my amended return?
Okay so I amended my refund because i received two more w-2s in the mail, it's not showing any changes in my return. Do I have to mail my amended refund or is it already on its way?
Amending for 2015 will not be finalized until mid-February. See this TurboTax support FAQ on amending a tax return. It will be updated as the 1040X becomes available -https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1894381-how-to-amend-change-or-correct-a-return-you-already-filed
Also note:
- An amended return, Form 1040X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS, it cannot be e-filed.
- The IRS will take 16 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
- Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
- 3 weeks after you mailed your amendment, you can start tracking its progress at the IRS Where's My Amended Return? site.
