Question

Do I need to Amend if I received a 1099-B showing a loss in stocks?

Hi,

i have already filed my 2023 taxes and currently waiting for my federal refund. I received a 1099-B reporting loss. This would result to an additional refund of $13 only. Do I still need to amend ? Of so, would turbotax allow me to e-file an amended return for 2023?

I advise you to file an amended return to report this form 1099-B.

As you have already filed, please wait to see if your return is accepted or rejected. If rejected, you may correct and resubmit. If it is accepted, you need to file an amended return.

If you are expecting a refund, we recommend that you wait to amend until after the IRS has processed your original return and you have received your refund.

You'll able to e-file your 2023 amended return

To amend your tax return, please read the instructions in this TurboTax FAQ.
