Do i need to amend my taxes if wages are off,or will irs correct wages?

It is very likely the IRS will correct your wages.

But, it could take until after April 15th, and if you owe, you will also be charged interest on what you owe them.

It is best to amend your return and add you wage correction as soon as your original 2017 return is processed.


You MUST wait for the original returns to be accepted or rejected before doing anything. All amendments are required to be mailed.

If your return is rejected you can make the needed changes then resubmit them by E-file.  

If your return is accepted you MUST wait until they have been fully processed and you have either received the original refund or paid the original balance due before amending them.
