Question

Do I need to amend tax form for a dormant stock account that I regain control only recently?

I have a stock account with my previous non-US employer and I sold most of the stocks before moving to the US 5 years ago. Then I lost my password and didn't regain control until last week, and turns out I still have around $1500 in it. Do I have to file any amendments with the IRS?

if your balance is $1500 cash, there is nothing to do.

There is no reporting of cash taken out of an account.
