Question

Do you have a printout of business expense categories that turbotax uses?

Do you have a form which shows the categories used by Turbo Tax that we can printout. This would help my wife categorize her business expenses. Her former accountant had her categorize her expenses differently than the way that turbotax does.

BTW, I called twice with a support ID and got disconnected twice while waiting.

You could print the Schedule C, which lists the business expenses on lines 8-27.

To do this, please follow these steps:

  1. While you are in your return, go to Forms Mode by clicking on the Forms icon in the top right of the blue bar.  [Screenshot #1]
  2. In the Forms in My Return list on the left, click on Schedule C to open it.   [Screenshot #2]
  3. If you haven't yet started a Schedule C and it does not appear in the Forms in My Return list, click the Open Form icon at the top of the list.  Type Schedule C and when it appears on the list, click it to open the form.

  4. To print the form, click the Print box at the bottom of the screen.  [Screenshot #2]
  5. To return to the interview, click on the Step-By-Step icon in the top right of the blue bar. [Screenshot #4]

You could also take a screenshot of the Let's write off some business expenses screen.  I've attached one as Screenshot #5, but I don't think you can print it.
