Does the ACH payment on a rejected efile still get processed?

I submitted my return by efile, along with processing an ACH payment for the amount I owe on my federal taxes. The efile was rejected afterward, does the ACH payment still get processed? I don't want to send in a check with my paper (file by mail) copy if the ACH is still being processed...but i also don't want to assume that the payment has been processed should the ACH get cancelled with the rejected efile.

No, the ACH will not go thorough if your return has been rejected. You can include the check with the return, or you can pay directly at the IRS site to ensure receipt.
