Does turbotax automatically inform the irs that i would like my stimulus money to be direct deposited?

@jaggedsnake , first TurboTax is not involved  in the Economic Impact payment.

If on your 2018 return you had bank information i.e. you requested  direct deposit, then the IRS   will use that information to direct deposit the  EIP.

There is always a chance that by the time they get to you ( don't know how they are prioritizing  the payments ) after  the master file is updated ( for the 2019 return ) and you have requested direct payment, they will  use that  information for the  EIP.

IRS also has a tool at its home page where you can add/change information on  EIP  as also status of your payment

Once you have filed a return TurboTax is not in the lop at all ( except if you are paying the TurboTax fees with the refund or similar situation ).
