E-filed both Federal taxes and Maryland taxes together

I owed Federal taxes of 605 and was to get a Maryland refund of 1433. Why did the system lower my Maryland refund to 828eventhough I provided my bank account information to have the Federal taxes of 605 due come out of my bank account?

Why do you think the system is lowering your MD refund? Are you just getting confused by the TurboTax summary that shows the net difference between the federal amount owed and the state refund? Look at your actual MD tax return and see what the refund amount is on it. It is not possible to pay your federal tax due from your federal refund--TurboTax is not doing that.
