Question

Efiled 2023 return. Received refund. Need to amend 2023 due to 1099-R and 1099-Int corrections. Amended return. 1040-x says "Do not File." How to proceed?

    A 2023 federal amended tax return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed using TurboTax.  You need to change the to File by Mail in the File section of the program.

    Feb 24 2025 update

     

    Started Turbotax this morning, Turbotax performed update & problem resolved, i.e. Form 1040-x no longer shows message.  Thanks.
