Wrong filing status cause my son was left off my tax return what can I do

If you need to change your filing status or add a dependent on the 2018 tax return that was filed and accepted by the IRS, then you will have to amend your tax return. Do Not amend the tax return until after you have received the tax refund or the taxes owed and paid have been processed.
