I have multiple states of employment and I have to send in 1040 forms. I filed my federal and state together . Does it mean i wont get my federal until the states individually clear after turning in 1040 forms?

No, they are processed separately. Your federal will be begin processing as soon as the IRS Accepts it, regardless of when the states receives their tax returns. The states often request a copy of the federal tax forms because their state forms use the federal Adjusted Gross Income.
