As you probably know you can't file as single when you are still legally married. You must file Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately unless you have a dependent that qualifies you to file Head of Household. Do you have a prior year tax return that has your spouses social security number on it?

You can amend your return to change to Married Filing Separately.  Since amended returns must be printed, signed, and mailed,  it won't delay things much to mail it without your spouses SSN if you can't get it.

DON'T CHANGE your return until you start the amended return. Wait until you receive the refund from your original return before amending. Here is a link to help you: https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1894381-how-to-amend-change-or-correct-a-return-you-already-filed
