I tried filing my 2017 return & it submitted it as 2019 & would not let me change the year, somehow the 2017 return was accepted under 2019 which is a problem & it won't let me correct it & when I went to file my actual 2019 returns it added just the state to the 2017 file & not the federal, I need the 2017 w-2s deleted & need to redo just my 2019 how can I do this?

You messed up big time. The online program is ONLY for 2019 returns--all the questions referred to 2019.

And you say it was accepted? When you check your e-file status what does it say?

Let's figure out if it really was accepted or if you are confused about that, too. Only a few returns have actually been accepted in a small test batch that the IRS pulled from the server. Everyone else is waiting until Jan. 27 to see if they are accepted or rejected. Your messed up return should be rejected by Jan. 27 or soon after.
