The IRS has not announced when  the 2019 filing season will open.  History says it will probably be about the end of January 2020 (unless Congress surprises with last minute tax law changes that will require a delay).

It will go on your 2019 return we file next year in 2020.   What kind of money?  From an employer?  You will get a W2.

Or is it from self employment income? Or investments?  Do you think you need to send in an estimated payment to cover the tax due?
