Question

for our refund I mistakenly checked savings acct and put our checking acct number, how can I correct this

There is no way to correct this after your tax return has been accepted by the IRS. If you have a correct account and routing number for the checking account, the bank will likely accept the direct deposit even though you checked savings account on your tax return.

If for some reason the bank rejects the deposit, the IRS will issue a paper check and mail it to you at the address on your tax return.
