If your child was born in 2020, you will have to wait until next year to get the payment for the child.

The stimulus payment is an advance on a tax credit for the tax year 2020. The IRS will use the information from your 2019 tax return to make the early payment this year. When you file your taxes next year, you will receive the payment for your new child born in 2020.
